not my cup of tea. it feels static and the dynamics are poor. the synth sound around 1:36 and onwards sounds really old, ive heard it a thousand times and it just doesnt fit the todays trance/euphoria sound anymore. i bet its a Nexus sound ;)
also, you should check out Sylenth1 and do your own synths :) (design your own sounds)
Another thing i noticed was a little lack of bass. you have the mids going on good but what happend to the low's ?

the things i enjoyed were the calm trancey pad and the piano. they are simple but really strong!

PS. im judging from my perspective. dont ask me to 'soften' my review on this because you just started here on newgrounds. this song simply is what it is :)

SyMTiK responds:

thank you for the review :) i appreciate actual reviews, rather than the crap like "nice track". i do not own nexus, and i created all of the synth sounds from scratch in this song except for one lead, which was a preset in razor that i adjusted just a little bit (the synth that comes in at 2:12). I wasnt really looking to make modern trance, i really enjoy some of the "older" stuff from the early 2000's (i know, not really that old, but old enough so that the sound was different :P) so i kind of went for what i thought were synths that sounded like the stuff from around that time. I have never really made trance before either, so wasnt really trying to innovate much on something i havent done before. thanks for the review, i appreciate your opinion :)

give it up for this remix!
its at least 3 times better than the original.

AeronMusic responds:

Thank you! (:

Dis song deserves all my stars. most of the time im not a fan of 'happy' songs, but this, this is from another planet! its so simple but so strong, the quality is almost top notch and everything fits together.
the one thing i didnt understand is the sudden ending. why not add a crash to the end? so it sounds more like it ends.
but anyway, awsome song!

ForeverBound responds:

Thanks mate U really made me smile after this review

the sounds are nice as far as i am concerned. but the end result/mastering doesnt fit the song.
the kickdrum is trying everything to get noticed but gets flushed away instead.
Some sounds even overlap/conflict each other.
And i would like to say something nice here.
Its trancy. but..
Next time try some Compression and EQ work.
Cant give you any tips on that,
i learned it myself but i dont know if im doing any good.
also hope i did NOT offend you with this review,
i dont like to make peopple sad so please dont stop doing music.

Ditchy responds:

Happy with your Comment mate,

I do this as one of my hobbies so ill never expect to get anywhere professionally with my music - Something I just enjoy :)

Cheers for the tips!

more like R&B kinda, but is really cool!

DjAbbic responds:

Heh thanks, not really something I would normally make but I had to make something.

Great!
i think you should work on your sound design a bit more though.
when i talk about sound design i dont mean create the sounds from scratch but if you can make sounds from scratch its only gonna help you..
what i mean is all the sounds you choose to use for the song.

DJinside responds:

Guess you're right! have most difficulties with the finishing touches though. mastering with the equalizer man man man!

im not really good doing reviews but will try my best!
very clever idea to make a cut-version or NG-version,
this way people actually visit SoundCloud haha!

anyways, ive taken my listen to the soundcloud song and have to say im fund of the intro, i really like the subtle sounds throughout and the short/strong builds.
the breakdown was clean, but also below the level of the whole track. then again you did a great job with that build towards the klimax. the subtle guitar does the job! really nice addition!
the hats might indeed need a little boost. the clap a small 2-3% boost.

the only thing i didnt like was the choice of the kickdrum you picked.
imo it felt like it didnt fit the track at all because of its 'uplifting' setting(minor bass levels).
i prefer a more bass-y progressivehouse kickdrum thats all!

Mea-Anima responds:

Hey :D,

Thanks for listening to my track man! appreciated very much.
Yeah the hats and snares are somewhat soft :/. I could change it since it is not released yet and probably won't be for a while. Yesterday I applied for Better Than Records. If they will have me, ill take your criticism in mind and change it up a little.

Thanks again,
PotencY.

for fucks sake its not techno impulsive21 -.-" seriously just grow the fuck up and do some research.
Foreverbound: nice track! specially like the ACID sound in the song :) it fits nicely in the DnB genre.

ForeverBound responds:

Thanks ;)

those drums are epic man! the arrangement is really good and flows awsomely :)
it sounds like im playing a game without a screen lol

AeronMusic responds:

lol thanks man! :D

apart from the delayed vocal chop thats offkey, it sounds perfect!
i would really 'tune' that vocal chop to the right key with any pitch knob lol

alanisnotcool responds:

thanks ill do that lol =)
